Television

Richard has written for television and stage. His work includes Miranda, Secret Diary of a Call Girl, The Rebel, and his own show, Bluestone 42 which ran for three series on the BBC.

Bluestone 42 was set in a bomb-disposal unit in Afghanistan. Accuracy was everything, and despite being a comedy it was extensively researched.

Working as a writer on set, Richard had to come up with new lines or rewrite material at a moment's notice. This developed his ability to hit tight deadlines with accuracy, concision and humour.

He has an excellent grasp of story and is adept at creating or adopting the tone of voice of a character or a whole show.

His work has been nominated for Olivier Awards and BAFTAs, and has won RTS and British Comedy Awards.
